Weather Of Sonmarg

The weather of Sonmarg is typical to that of the Kashmir valley. During the summers (April to June), the weather is fairly pleasant and the temperature remains between 9 °C to 34 °C. The month of July marks the arrival of the monsoon season, which lasts till September. The town experiences heavy rainfall during this season. During the winter season (November to March), the temperatures drop as low as -10 °C. Heavy snowfall is common during this season.

By Air : Srinagar Airport is located at a distance of 92 km from Sonmarg.

By Rail : There are no railway stations in Sonmarg. The nearest major station is Jammu Tawi Railway station. It is well-connected to most of the prominent cities of India, including Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Chennai, Pune and many others.

By Road : Sonmarg is accessible from the rest of the country, through National Highway 1D (NH 1D). Srinagar, the state capital, is 87 km away and the journey takes approximately 3 hours by road.
