The Cochin Maritime Museum is dedicated to the sincere efforts of the navy of India. The great maritime heritage of the Indian navy is highlighted in the Maritime Museum of Kochi. Once inside the Maritime Museum, you will find how the naval forces evolved with time, ancient trade links of Kerala with the Arabs during Indus Valley civilization. The famous maritime hero Kunjali Marakkar also has a special space dedicated to him. This museum is located at INS Dronacharya and highlights the major landmarks of the Indian Navy.

The museum is divided into various different sections, which highlight significant and interesting aspects of the Indian navy like shipbuilding, evolution of the Indian navy since the year 1600, wars fought and victories of the navy, etc. One can even find information on the various wars fought by the Indian navy like the Goa liberation, Indo-Pak conflicts of 1965 and 1971, Operation Cactus (Maldives), Operation Pawan and planned drills during Kargil war recently.

By Air : The airports that are closest to Ernakulam are Trivandrum and Cochin.

By Rail : There are three railway junctions in Cochin at Ernakulam town, Cochin harbor and Ernakulam junction. The museum can be reached by hiring local transport from the stations.

By Road : Ernakulam and Cochin are both well connected by an extensive network of roads and the museum can be easily reached.
